What is Reconciliation?
In the Sacrament of Reconciliation, the baptized confess their sins to a priest and receive absolution in the name of Christ.
Through sacramental absolution, Christ reconciles us with the Father and with his Church, restores us to grace, and strengthens us to turn away from sin. A sincere confession includes contrition, an honest confession of sins, absolution, penance, and a firm purpose of amendment.
If it has been a long time or you are unsure what to say, simply tell the priest. He will guide you through the sacrament.
